Finally got sick of bleeding out the clutch every week so handed it over to the mechanic to open her up and take a look.

New clutch and slave cylinder needed, yippee!

He also says I need a new "left hand half shaft seal" as the current one is leaking, going from gearbox to IRD.

I said I'd get the parts myself, so Ive sourced the slave and the clutch but I cannot find the seal.

What's the part number, or should I just get it from the stealers as its only a small thing?

Before people come on saying I should get the DMF done aswell, I can't afford it at the moment and the mechanic says it looks ok, and I trust him as he's been doing the family cars for years.

Any help appreciated, Aaron

I might be wrong but there's not many reports of Td4 DMFs failing- no where near as many as the VW ones. so you might be ok. Correct me if I'm wrong..?

Not a lot of experience other then what I've read here.

The popular consensus seems to be that if you have the gearbox off and your replacing the slave to get the clutch and the DMF done as well.

Hopefully it'll be ok, as the mechanic said, it seems fine, not much play, it could go tomorrow or go on forever......... very wishful thinking!
