Mark, I had mismatched rusty mirrors on my doors but for the time being they have been removed and I've put mirrors n the wings. Looks much better but of course not such a good rear view but at 45 mph I dont do much overtaking ... New mirrors look like this:

how about a platform just above the height of the bulkhead, covering the entire area of the load area, with a hinged flap which you could flip forward to rest on the steering wheel?
