V8 auto drivers- where does your rev counter point when in D with foot on the brake (ie not moving). Cheers!

hmmm been there! had to mess with mine to get it to the garage because the revs drop when it warms up!

Think its holding idle enough not to cut out after adjusting throttle connection screw. Engine completely dies when the maf wire is take off- should it do that?

Just can't get it run right (took to specialist which only achieved a bill- need to sort now myself or break the darn thing)- dying at idle when warm is back & now have a slight/partial miss from one of the cyls which makes it run a bit rough

Out of nowhere my 3.5 disco has started running very rough "chug chug chug" :(
Its a bit intermittent- occasionally it will smooth out and run nicely but switch off and on again and its back!
Checked all the hoses/leads etc- nothing is obviously missing or falling off. Stepper/throttle pot...

If there was that much metallic **** in the sump it must have been on its last legs anyway and you just brought forward the inevitable?

Tat-tat-tat sounding creak when turning sharply to the right- anyone had this?

^^ Did change the throttle pot.
Problem fixed though- was lucky enough to be allowed to borrow an air meter from a good 3.9 disco for a few hours and problem disappeared. Ordered a new one on ebay for 57 quid delivered which ain't too bad

Going to bite the bullet & change the inlet manifold gasket- it does "feel" like air is being sucked in

F@**ing ****part!!!! Stepper case cracked and it wasn't even screwed in all way. Bet they won't refund either :mad:

it ran fine for a week or two after cleaning the old stepper so I'm hoping it temporarily freed up and just needs changing, fingers crossed!

Ebayed a nice weber carb & offy manifold from a classic rangie I used to have, would have gone a treat on the disco :doh:

All except the 3.5 can slip a liner unless you have the block top-hatted
