    3.5 hotwire runs like crap

Just can't get it run right (took to specialist which only achieved a bill- need to sort now myself or break the darn thing)- dying at idle when warm is back & now have a slight/partial miss from one of the cyls which makes it run a bit rough Have changed stepper, tps, leads/cap/rotor arm (all...

    Chug Chug Chugging V8

Out of nowhere my 3.5 disco has started running very rough "chug chug chug" :( Its a bit intermittent- occasionally it will smooth out and run nicely but switch off and on again and its back! Checked all the hoses/leads etc- nothing is obviously missing or falling off. Stepper/throttle pot...

    Crappy idle- 3.5 V8i

Thx kev new stepper did nothing anyway. Going to bite the bullet & change the inlet manifold gasket- it does "feel" like air is being sucked in

    Crappy idle- 3.5 V8i

got another new stepper for 16 quid on ebay- the part fits a load of GM cars apparently as well Sort of tried what voguese39 said (cheers mate), the vacuum pipes are all in bizarrely good nick (must have been changed at some point) so the only leak could be the inlet manifold- which i really...

    Crappy idle- 3.5 V8i

My 93 disco cuts out at idle and revs up and down a bit to keep itself going in P. If anything its worse when its warmed up Checked all the vacuum pipes, nothing lose or split, maf connected up properly. Lubed the throttle links- all looks ok does this sound like a bad stepper motor...

    Brakes don't work!

Just took the disco for a spin up n down the alley and bizarrely they seem to work ok now! Gonna get a mechanic to have a look, hopefully just need cleaning out, new fluid n discs/pads... maybe a caliper could the fluid have boiled after the 100mile drive? It looks really really old

    Brakes don't work!

Did it start pulling to the right with the caliper seized? I was approaching one of those 50 zones on the M1 when I started looking for an anchor to chuck out the window or a parachute... I might have been plodding along for 20 miles with no brakes! Could have happened in a much worse place, i...
