E bay regulator kits are really inexpensive and work just fine, I have replaced mine for around £20 complete with cables and motor and to be fair it's not a difficult job.

Mine did exactly that same symptoms etc etc mine needed to be used it had been stood for a long time and the previous owner had a turbo go possibly leaving oil in the intercooler. If You read my posts from last year it probably reads like it's your vehicle but injector refurb did seem to help...

I had the same on my TD4 FL1 and tapped the electrode through into the cylinder, removed the injector and put a vacuum cleaner tube in the injector hole and at the same time used compressed air through the glow plug hole to dance the broken bit around until the vac could get it.
