Hello all,
I have come across something that I thought was a great idea,

Its a Universal
Front Registration Plate Mounting Bracket.
For Driving/Fog/Spot Light & or LED Light Bar,

Allowing mounting of many different styles of lights,
fitment is only restricted to having a flat surface to mount onto,
with enough clearance above for the lights to be mounted..

The biggest issue is they are the other side of the world
Australia
And to my mind a little on the expensive side,
not so much for the item but for the delivery,
as it is a fairly heavy item to ship across the world,

So I am wanting to know your thoughts on the item,
and how much you would be prepared to part with for one very similar..

I am looking at extending the top bar to allow for up to 4x 7inch round or rectangle lights,
or a 27 inch light bar without any over hang,

The real beauty to me is the simplicity of the fitment,
being a Freelander owner I would need to remove the under tray,
and the complete front bumper to mount the standard style brackets,
the ones that poke through the bumper,

With this you would only need to remover the Number Plate,
screw or bolt this to the section behind and replace and secure the Number Plate.

A bit rough and ready but an approximate view where it would sit on a Freelander.

You will need to use a little imagination as to how it would look on your motor.

So the question is would you purchase one for your motor to fit lights to,
and how much would you expect to pay for one delivered to your doorstep,

Just a side note to consider:
They will come just as you see it above in the top picture,
just with the extended top bar and a couple of other minor changes,
NO fixings will be supplied,
due to so many different applications,
it would be impractical to try and supply all the potential types of fittings..

Please vote in the poll,
so I can gauge if there is any interest and what price people would be willing to pay,,

Comments & Advice are always welcome,

:confused2:

£2.00 inc P+P if I was feeling flush?

What does it do that I can't make?
What makes you think it might be worth £89+ for a black angle bracket of indeterminate size and strength?
How would I fix it into a piece of floppy plastic?

Reinforced Angle Bracket E2/2.5/7090 - Timber Brackets - Hardware & Metalwork -Tools, Electrical & Plumbing - Wickes

Now that's not very generous,,,lol

"What does it do that I can't make?"

The answer is there is nothing it will do that you couldn't make yourself if you have the skills,

I don't have the skills myself so I have to pay others to do it for me..
I designed one similar to the picture based around the Freelander, and my own personal requirements,
and then found that the design will work as a universal application, for many not all manufacturers.
The price I have been quoted for one is massive,
and therefore I would need to make several to keep the cost down,
but I am only going to do that if enough interest is shown, and with the
expectation on spending a little more than £2,

"What makes you think it might be worth £89+ for a black angle bracket of indeterminate size and strength?"

The range of prices covers all the different types of bars & brackets currently for sale on ebay,
that are a similar item,
they generally range from £40 1mm tin plate - £300+ for a full bumper bar +P&P,
so the question was what would you pay?
and you very kindly answered with a generous offer of £2.00 inclusive of P&P..

I am hoping others may wish to pay more than your offer,
so I have given a range to choose from..

"How would I fix it into a piece of floppy plastic?"

The bumper on mine is not floppy at all, and is the only bumper I have been able to look at,
I am sure it will hold this item and several lights mounted to it, this of course
would be completely fitted and tested before I sold any to anyone else,
the one in the picture has been fitted to many motors,
and is also sold as universal,
the weight of our one will be similar so I don't see a problem..

Thank you for your questions it has made me think,
and question my own ideas..

But Really £2.00..;)

Why are you trying to price to the market this is a flawed model for small scale production. Why not price it based on the production cost plus a modest profit.
