residual value £5000 if i am lucky

1 years cost £4850 excluding normal running costs like petrol,
insurance, tax etc

now looking at Honda HR-V, CR-V and Nissan X-Trail - wonder how much they cost?

They really are lovely motors and surprisingly agile, i urge any one to try one out before they pass comment.

They are just built with standard car bits that are not man enough for the job.

The new model should be alot better build quality and it looks like a mini range rover.

Mad hat man trade it in for Series II Disco that will be alot better then the others you are thinking of buying.

the boss wants an "ickle one" tho
i dont really do off roading - just the occasional muddy lane in Devon in the winter (when I go canoeing) so 2wd with occasional 4wd is fine. Providing it will take my kayaks on top and 2 (occasionally) 4 peeps inside thats all i need. but it must be RELIABLE - coz i use it for my work and deliveries - it must be "jump in and go" - my V6 (and yes - they aren't all bad) woz "go" to garage more than on my drive.
a Disco is overkill.
