Yes.. My TD4 still not going!!..

I have fitted a new pump in the tank, also a (second) new pump
in the engin bay, checked all my hoses & connections, all good!.. also
fitted a new fuel filter and MAF sensor!

I decided to do a little test
and pulled fuel pipe from exit of filter, switched on ignition, fuel
****es out real good (no air!), so satisfied with the LP side of fuel system!!

Connected it all back up.. switch on ignition to start, engin starts un runs
for a few seconds & dies? :(

Do i have a problem with the HP side, or is it electrical?

Spent over £600 un still not going!! Ahhh!!!

the injectors can cause all kinds of funny starting problems, as the pressure has to be equal across all 4 before it will start. if one is faulty, it will leak pressure off and cause an imbalance, and then it wont start.

Yeah Opti.. Will be checkin out the jectors tumorrw!!

Will let ya know wot the outcome is..

Done an injector test today, all injectors are fine, no leak off from
any of them!

I dont know wot else to try.. apart from a fookin great bomb!!:behindsofa:

I :welcome: anyone that can help me git my hippo goin!

I'm really missin me fishin!!:( un me bruvvers haulin em out!!

Camshaft sensor ?? I know they normally fail when hot but might still be worth a try.

Hi there.
I had something simular to this a while ago with my 1 series Freelander and it was the small filter in the bolt that attaches the fuel pipe to the pump. If you can get the car running try priming it while it's running, if it doesn't cut out it might this.

Fingers crossed,

Dazzer.

OK. . . .as Porky is gittin reet upset. . . .he says out of the filter td4 find the pipe that go's to the pressure relieve valve and clamp it [wiff a pipe clamp [or mole'ys] ] and try again    as he has run outa idea's

There is a pressure sensor after the filter. If this indicates low pressure the engine will not run. (Done to protect the HP pump from cavitation and breakdown). Have you checked that the connector is making good contact, take it off and squirt both halves with WD40 to clean/lubricate them. Once the engine starts vibration might cause intermittent connection and falsely indicating low fuel pressure.

Yup Ming.. I took out pressure relief valve, un blocked pipe wiff
a bit of rod, un clamped pipe together! (thought i was loosing pressure
through dogie valve!) problem was still the same!! turn the key,
engine starts.. then dies off!!

I also removed fuel pipe inlet to injector pump, blocked injector pump
inlet, turn on ignition.. fuel ****ed out really good.. could fill a fuel can
in less that 2 min!!

Just cant get ny head round this wun!! bin studyin the rave cd lika
a fookin rockit seintist!!.. uhh.. no ufence!.. gulp..:bolt:

Hi Vic.. yeah, your right it is worth doing, un i did that, its a good
contact, thanks!

more of a question i suppose but is it possible that if the crank sensor was at fault the engine could fire up using camshaft sensor alone? then when cam sensor cuts out (as it's only used at startup) engine stalls....

have you scanned for fault codes at this stage?

Had a guy come up and do a Diagnostic test, i fault.. MAF sensor!
Ive put a new one in! (roverron pierburgh)

I think the Diagnostic would have picked up sensor failure!

Thanks for your input Chase

So since changing the maf there are no fault codes is that right? or haven't you rescanned...
