Hi all

Just wondered if any one has heard of or had experience with the new product called terraclean?

I seen it on wheeler dealer and it seems to be flawless watched it on YouTube it's the cars equivalent of a colonic irrigation lol

My question is really would it open a can of worms by removing all the carbon deposits ect?

Cheers Webbs

Might want to give people more than 90mins to answer :D

I have heard of it and think it could be good on a petrol engine which will have low deposits but on a 150k old school diesel I am not so sure. Things wear adn its the carbon sometimes maintaining correct piston ring gaps etc so clean all the crap out and you are left with a clean worn engine that burns more oil than fuel.

I wouldnt, for the same reason I dont oil flush, all the carbon and "crap" in an old, worn engine is keeping other bits together (sort of)
A good run keeps my fender carbon free, get it right up to temp on a good run, and do a few hard pull aways, its amazing the amount of black crap come outta the back.

Why bother?

A well-maintained engine shouldn't need anything extra in the way of internal cleaning, and even if it did, running the engine for a while on a decent diesel oil will do the job almost for free.

It's another 'must-have' for those with too much money to spend.

edited for the sake of accuracy :).

I spent hundreds on mine (a long time ago) - just got it finished and someone drove into the side of it - raked it from N/S front wing to N/S rear wing. Had it repaired, but it was never the same again. My heart sort of went out of it after that

what a shame always someone else spoils the fun good looking car you never know one day you will start again
