Hi
Just the gear box I think.
£350 but when they took out the box they said the dual mass fly wheel had also worn and needed changing? £275 extra.

Discounting incorrect fitting of the clutch plate etc, if they cannot engage the clutch have they checked the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder as its these components that would allow the clutch to engage/disengage, might just need bled.

These dual mass flywheels are expensive - a friend had to replace his on a TDCi Mondeo, they do seem prone to failing. Don't know what was wrong with the well established solid flywheel.

master cylinder or the slave cylinder common fault had to replace both twice:mad:

Hi
Thanks that makes sense, they did mention the master cylinder and did something I dont know what but it did'nt
work, they are now as from today in the process of removing the clutch to see if the new clutch is faulty.
When I get it back is there anything I can check to make sure everything is done properly and the clutch system will last its normal distance, Because I have a feeling the garantee will only last untill the cheque clears.

All you can do is check that the clutch operation is smooth, not slipping and that there are no leaks from the master or slave cylinders.

Hi guys,
She came home Fri 4pm, typical woman new clutch, new dual mass fw, new master cylinder, new slave cylinder, I'm spent out £698. Last month £580, three months I've had it, I pray nothing else goes wrong. although she smokes a bit under power I just don't know where to take it where they are fair & competent.
Thanks everyone for your help
much appreciated
