2nd and 3rd gear

Yet another problem with my 300tdi.

Slightly confused with this:

Boot 1st to 2nd grind to 3rd grind,
Slowly 1st to 2nd easy to 3rd easy,
Slowly 1st to 2nd easy, boot to 3rd easy,

Not sure that male sense but if I give I some in 1st it grinds 2nd and 3rd, but if I go slowly in 1st the boot 2nd it is easy.

Any ideas what is going on?

Really hoping not clutch or gearbox.

balk rings are worn , 2nd gets the worst wear then 3rd generally these show issues first

What is it?
How much are they?

It would probably have to be done it the garage since i don't like messing with gearbox's.

google ftc3584,it entails a full strip down ,most garages dont touch boxes either they just fit another

Hmmmm may have to call and see what they say.

The one i take it too seem to be alright and not wanting to rip me off.
