Hello all,
I have come across something that I thought was a great idea,

Its a Universal
Front Registration Plate Mounting Bracket.
For Driving/Fog/Spot Light & or LED Light Bar,

Allowing mounting of many different styles of lights,
fitment is only restricted to having a flat surface to mount onto,
with enough clearance above for the lights to be mounted..

The biggest issue is they are the other side of the world
Australia
And to my mind a little on the expensive side,
not so much for the item but for the delivery,
as it is a fairly heavy item to ship across the world,

So I am wanting to know your thoughts on the item,
and how much you would be prepared to part with for one very similar..

I am looking at extending the top bar to allow for up to 4x 7inch round or rectangle lights,
or a 27 inch light bar without any over hang,

The real beauty to me is the simplicity of the fitment,
being a Freelander owner I would need to remove the under tray,
and the complete front bumper to mount the standard style brackets,
the ones that poke through the bumper,

With this you would only need to remover the Number Plate,
screw or bolt this to the section behind and replace and secure the Number Plate.

A bit rough and ready but an approximate view where it would sit on a Freelander.

You will need to use a little imagination as to how it would look on your motor.

So the question is would you purchase one for your motor to fit lights to,
and how much would you expect to pay for one delivered to your doorstep,

Just a side note to consider:
They will come just as you see it above in the top picture,
just with the extended top bar and a couple of other minor changes,
NO fixings will be supplied,
due to so many different applications,
it would be impractical to try and supply all the potential types of fittings..

Please vote in the poll,
so I can gauge if there is any interest and what price people would be willing to pay,,

Comments & Advice are always welcome,

I thought the same myself at first but,

No I don't think that the combined weight is sufficient to do that,
as they have been selling these for sometime,
we are going to counteract the weight of the extra length on the
top mount bar, by reducing the fixing plate itself..should actually
work out lighter than theirs..

Thank you for the thought..

Only really marketable to freelanderers - real landy owners can just drill through their metal bumpers and bolt the lights straight onto the bumper.

OK thank you..

There are many other manufactures that this would fit,
But I suppose they are all in the same bracket as a Freelander,
(Plastic Front Bumpers)

The disco could use it and so could the Range Rover,
and possibly more,

but the Series landy and others as you say can have the lights direct
bolted to the metal bumper.

Depends on how the numberplate fixes to the bumper.

not looked at 4x4s etc, but the cars I had it was just screwed/stuck to the plastic so would wobble/vibrate alot with 4x 7" spots on it.

Just seen this poll for the first time and i cant believe that no one has pointed out that its invalid. I think you know why. C'mon Indi, youve been here long enough to know its missing the most important option

Oi ! You saying a Disco 2 ain't a real Landy?? :boxing::D

Course not - but it don't have metal bumpers and its got elecktrickery by the bucketful.

FiL has a Disco 2 and his bumpers is cracked to hell and back he'd much prefer metal jobs but hasn't come across any at the right price yet. Hopefully that might change on sunday at Malvern.

Oh, and if you use this plate, make sure you fix it to the vehicle using self drill screws which are long enough to reach the aluminium cross member behind or it will vibrate like a bastard.

Thanks all for your input,

looks like it would fly out of my hands for shed loads of money for each one,,:der:

Yes I put it on both General and Freelander specifically,

The first comment was it was better suited to the Freelander so I added one there..

Very similar results so far on either poll..

OMG!! I can believe I did it again,, Missed Bob off the options..:monitor_punch:

Maybe I should do another poll and add it in...:p

If it was me and you are fabbing these in your workshop, then go stick a few on ebay and see what happens.
