Anyone have experience of single phase plasma cutters?

I have plentiful air supply and current (63A), so my only real limiting factor is only having single phase in my workshop.

I'd love a Hypertherm machine, but I'm not sure the tool fairy would bring me anything that cost more than £1k, so I was thinking of something like this:

Anyone know of alternatives I should be considering?

Depends if you're going to use the machine on a daily basis or not so frequently? I used to have a Hypertherm until it ended up under the wheels of my truck (long story ). I bought a cheap machine just as a temporary measure, I didn't expect much. I bought a 'Cobel 40H' about a year ago, it's had a lot of use in the last year and is as good as the day I bought it. Consumables are cheap and plentiful. It was only bought as a temporary measure but shows no signs of giving up. I generally cut anything from 4mm to 10mm without any problems.

I can also vouch for the above plasma, uncles just got one and iv been using it ALOT over past few weeks and its brilliant, thickest iv done is 6mm plate and lots of it, keeps on going brilliant bit of kit

I've recently brought an R tech one seems ok considering its the "baby" of the range, mine runs off a 13amp plug but with your larger budget and big supply you should be able to get a pretty decent one. :)

Ordered the Cobel. I'll only use it for a couple of cuts each weekend, so at that price it's well worth a punt given the positive reviews above.

Thanks guys, saves some dollars for more toys :)

Can this be used direct from a 13 amp socket or does it need wiring in to the mains
