It wasn't too bad, thermal and t-shirt did me for most of the day…..did stick on a jacket when we got a bit higher but we had a good day.

Haha unlucky :p we're hoping for more here, love the stuff and the cold :D

Anyone know the lanes south of the A66 (across Threlkeld common)?
Will be driving right past tomorrow morning and rather tempted.

That sounds like the old coach road, very easy lane with a only one chance of a problem it has/had a large muddy hole about 1/2 way down, no way to drive around it if looks a problem when you get there you should be able to back up and turn around. There are also a couple of other short ones in the area all worth a drive and none difficult (that I can remember) one of the best lanes that area is Gatescarth Pass (TRO permit required) worth look or walk some of it if you have a chance and Breasthigh road (dont attempt on your own). Have a look here for some pictures from the area album Gaescarth10 and also the Zuk album James_1966's Public Profile on Photobucket.com

James, thanks for the photos.
Gatescarth Pass, looks an interesting lane.
Looks like I need to organise an Essex Mud Monkeys trip for this year.

I'm only here for a few more days, but hoping to get a few more lanes in.
If i do I'm going to have a go at Threlkeld common, yes that is the old coach road.
Sounds like it. Would be fine to do on my own, but trying to organise a suitable time so dr evil can join me.
