So after being delayed due to finding a fuel station that was open and then having my spare wheel cover blown off on the A55 by a crosswind I went to the start of the track the others were on and found my series was struggling quite a bit even at the start.

Thanks to MrNoisy for being a good help

So as not to make a wasted day, I had a bit of an exploration of a couple of nearby tracks used by the forestry commission. Saw quite a few mountain bikers and ramblers on my meanderings who seemed quite accepting of the old tratter. It was quite a decent road surface for going on, a few deep pot holes and the views were great. (dont ask me where it is as Ive no idea I just followed the tracks left by the forestry vehicles)

Ended up having to do some of it going backwards as sections of the tracks were closed off and signposted as such. Typically the signs about a mile down the single track after a junction. Was a good day nonetheless, furthest journey Ive been in the landy since passing my test last October

Nice looking truck, probably too nice to risk bending it so think you made the right decision!
There's loads of nice lanes in the area without the risk of damage that a std series will handle no problem will let you know next time we're going out again :)

I gave the start a go but it was slipping and there wasnt a lot of clearance over thebigger boulder.

Would be good to a trip with another series soo thatll be great :)

At least you didn't have a wasted day, the last time I went green laning with my wife we drove two and a half hours to Llangollen, she got travel sick and spewd up in a layby and we drove all the way back and I got shouted at cos apparently it was my fault  Now I go on my own

Nice looking series that bud....

yep nice looking series sam sorry did'nt get to meet up with you. i,ll pm you when i,m next doing the llyn peninsula tracks end of march is looking likely. as the tracks round there are a bit easier for your motor

Tbh i just assumed it was used by forrestry for clearing as there were a few felled trees. There werent any signs saying not to and there were signs of recent vehicle use, i actually found it by accident as i took a wrong turn somewhere along the way.

Parts of it were signed at junction turn offs that no one could go there but not the track i was on

I am fairly sure that is illegal, sorry to put a damper on things but if you were stopped by the police they would of been well within their rights to seize your vehicle. I made this same error near strata florida. Got lost and ended up on a forestry track, technically they are not for public use, so you are trespassing and they do not have to be marked private or anything. My error was an innocent mistake but as I was strongly informed later that doesn't count for anything. If out Greenlaning it is your responsibility to check with the local authorities the present status of the lanes you intend to drive and of course you have a map so you know exactly where you are.

He's right I just didn't know if I wanted to be the party pooper after such nice pictures

In my book it's one of them things where if you're gonna go for a little scoot out on your own then nobody is going to stop you 99% of the time

But you do need to be aware that the black dotted forest tracks on maps are likely private land

Anyway no harm done and no damage caused so I don't think its a banning offence

If you hadn't have taken your camera then nobody would know, and half the time heading out for a bit of an off the beaten track is good fun, just don't get stopped!

by the looks of where sam came out. i know the track you used it's the one where you fix'd your steering bar on sunday afternoon. the one you notice'd had the vehicles allowed sign on hid behind all the other sign's

Yep, sign says "multi use track" with a pic of a car truck bike cycle and walker
When it snows you can't tell your off Tarmac and you find loads of city types up there in cars
