For the benefit of all future readers it might be good if you shared the detail of that. It might make you come out of this thread less negatively

So after our conversation Andy I did alot of reading and looking around and my conclusion is the drilled and grooved disks will only benefit you if you're driving at high performance levels, and for typical Freelander type driving - on or off...

So today since I was off work I thought I'd make the very sensible decision and do some work on the 110... got a gas strut fitted on the rear door, refitted the chequer plate panel on the door and put one of those folding table things on it...

Wonder if there is a fix for the drop down springy flap thing that doesn't springy down anymore? I have to manually lower it which isn't on really.

Busy few days, finished off fitting the galv capping on the tub, re aligned the tub to chassis and bolted down, fitted the heater fan box, fitted a one piece BRT motorsport braided clutch pipe, painted the vent flap fly screens black and re...

So off road capable 4x4, seven seats and large carrying capacity, so a large and difficult to park vehicle 🤔 most manufacturers have something like that. Jaguar have been doing deals as their F Pace is discontinued and there will be a new...

I think it needed 15mm strip. Wickes only had 20x2mm & complete faff in the hot weather narrowing them all down !!

All done. Bought some M5 x 25mm bolts from Wickes this morning and it went in first time. Bracket lines up properly and all. Shame it was a 50 pack - anybody need 49 spare bolts? 😆 Pressure tested to 15 psi for about 10 mins, and no leaks...

Realise this. I fitted it back when the car was daily driven, and needed a ‘quick fix’ - now it’s an occasional weekend car there’s a whole list of jobs to put it back to proper.

Poss the common leak at the back of the engine left hand side as you look at it there is a push fit connector. It leaks down the back of the engine and evaporates so hard to find its a cheap part I always carry 1 in the car.

When I was skint, I changed the bearing in one of them. Took me hours to get the bearing out using very basic tools. I vowed id just buy the whole thing if I ever needed to again. But... If you had the tools, you could just put in whatever...

My Wife's car has been driven for at least two years with the plug linking the coils to the rest of the loom mended with garden wire. The pesky spring clip flew off into the middle distance never to be found. so yep, 2 or even three zip ties...

Waited until it was ‘cool enough’ to run the glow plugs. Started on the button. I’ll remember this for next time! I have got a synergy box set up solely to treat the hot start issue. I think I’m going to have to look at 1) removing the synergy...

How long is a piece of string? You’re looking for an alternative to a disco, but you rarely tow and rarely go off-road? So you could, in fact, have any car you like or can afford.

Sod it. I'll put a pair on and see what happens. Checking pistons are free in process. The 18" wheels are so heavy, just taking them off once is very attractive.

So it’s an L322 4.4 V8 BMW Petrol engine- sentimental so despite age, scrapping is not an option. Going through coolant every 3-4 weeks with the low coolant warning coming on. Pulled into a garage last week for them to top it up after short...

AI says; Slotted discs: Feature grooves that run along the disc's surface. They offer improved gas and water expulsion and can enhance pad bite. Drilled discs: Have holes drilled through the disc, offering better heat dissipation and gas...
