    Yep, sounds the same @Arctic2, ordered one, thanks. Maybe the speed to the ferry wasn't to good on the motorway last time. Could it be, that one of the other tensioners could have caused deterioration and would need change as well?

    Yes, you can for test just the ride heights might be a bit different but if you connect it and the compressor will not run like with the original you know that's it. If nothing changes you should swap the fusebox... what ever you swap disconnect...

    I'd be checking around the air tank to make sure the air supply to it hasn't been popped off? A good clean up needed then and a thorough examination of air lines and airbags. 👌

    Not true. I has a baff regularly ----- at the start of every season. Me oinker takes the second baff, we is environmentally aware, don't waste water. (But he complains that he gets out muckier than when he went in).

    That’s a well thought out test, and you found the knock with dizzy in and lift pump , so keep going and remove ancillaries one at a time , ( lift pump lever on wrong side of cam poss) until sound stops, as you’re in so deep now not far from head...

    there is a little bit of side to side play in the conrod on the crank. but nothing in the Z direction (up and down). theyre just solid in there and i cant get them to tick or wiggle.

    The previous owner had ripped this car round a field before I had it , had to remove tons of mud . When I opened the eas box its covered in mud stain, so I wouldn't be surprised.
