Truble is you are not supposed to leave standing water around as it encourages tiger mosquito. Which is a real bore as it means I have to fit the water reservoir pump each time we want to use it. The hole is covered by a concrete manhole cover.

Correct, it did not come with a Pully, that maybe because Britpart stocks the same Alt for different models (300tdi, 200 tdi, A/C no A/C etc.) as I think there are different size pullys based on what belt i used. My 300tdi just has one long belt...

If the AC pipes are properly hot & cold, also check the Aspirator fan next to the clock, plus the Evaporator & Heater Core sensors. Evap sensor is pushed into the right side of the heater box near the bulkhead. Heater core sensor is clipped...

Check your camshaft position sensor - if this is faulty it will cause starting issues. (It won’t necessarily give an engine fault code.)
