I'm coming down to sensor as on way back it started so I did science. Once it started I would stop take keys out leave it 5 seconds and start again. Done this a few times. I've even seemed to figure out how to replicate it every time. So I'm...

Haha fair shout 😅 I was deep in a Google rabbit hole and suddenly found a bunch of people asking the exact same thing I was struggling with, got excited, started typing… didn’t even notice I’d time-travelled back to 2011 Still, glad to see some...

I was in a similar position not too long ago, torn between the TD5 and the Puma. I ended up test driving both over a couple of days, including some long stretches on the motorway and a bit of rural backroad stuff. Honestly, both were great in...

I’ve got a Series 3 as well and ran into the same questions when looking for upgrades. A lot of Defender stuff can fit with a bit of tweaking, as folks already mentioned. I found this site that’s been pretty useful when figuring out...

This is important and very sage advice. One of the big advantages of the defender is that you do not buy the perfect one you build the perfect one, whether you are doing that yourself or paying someone else. All you buy in the first instance is...

Another vote here for leaving it out. If you want to protect the floor of the back and double up as good sound proofing a sheet of stable matting does the trick and just leave the wheel boxes bare I am the same as marjon, bare front to back with...

I think it's well over priced. Like most owners (me included) they have spent more than they will ever get back but think they can when they sell (not that i'm going to). A mate sold a clean/tidy TD5 110 recently for £10K. I think your estimate...

Are the individual sections of linkages moving smoothly without stickiness, you would need to disconnect them to test though
  • 1997 Discovery
Quite possibly. My first test would be disconnect each sensor in turn to see if the fault is with an over sensitive sensor maybe.

I am beginning to look at another 110 as have a second child on the way, in the sprit of fairness after getting one for my son on the day he was born with a plan to rebuild in about 10 years time with him, I will need to do the same with this...

How about wear in the throttle linkages.. ours would tickover lovely when stationary, take it for a drive and it would be erratic again, all down to worn linkages.

This is happening on mine I suspect its part number 9047 but there's so much Gibbins in the way its hard to see where its coming from. So I just fill 3/4 of a tank and live with it for now

Full metal throttle linkage - no cable sadly + you could balance a 50pence piece on that engine whilst she runs, super smooth
