Since he last posted about sooty plugs I too have been wondering, despite his happiness with the Rolling road session, if it isn't running a bit rich.

That's a good idea. It is holding up at the mo but obvs not a decent solution. I'll have a bash at seeing where I could stick some araldite or other two part epoxy. :)

Fixed it!!! Turned out to be the new boost solinoid I fitted in November was the cause bearing in mind it was off the road until march this year so barely been used since march put the original back on and runs like a dream again

I have a box full of TD5 gaskets and seals tucked away somewhere. I need to find it and see what I have. Luckily, I'm not in a rush to complete this job so if I don't have what I need I can order at my leisure.

While you're at it you'll want the gaskets and O-rings for the two filter housings if they're not included in the oil cooler repair kit.

Just used rtv silicone on mine with no issues.

Thanks Sierrafery. I see no evidence of oil in my coolant but I've bought a complete oil cooler repair kit. Might as well do it for all the work involved so hopefully I'll not be doing it again.

Put my old TCM back fault has gone (No slipping in 3rd gear). I dont know what was the cause. Didnt change anything. Maybe connections.

Not easy, you'll have to remove the turbo first iirc, just buy branded gasket, i used THIS

What carb has it got? Oil appearing there can only come from the rocker gasket or possibly a cracked head, it has been rebuilt by the looks it has ARP headstuds so I guess they would of done a 1/2 decent job throwing it together,

Sooty as Sweep the puppet. But not wet. They are all sooted up, its awful.
