I have just started a returning to road worthiness of a 1972 109" series 3. It has been stood for 7 years. After pre start checks and help from members on this site I got the old girl turning over and eventually running!
While running, it eventually cuts out due to too much fuel; fuel is pouring from the float chamber overflow and into the engine. I'm hoping this is just the floats sticking/adjustment but if not I've seen a zenith service kit.
I was wonderering what does the kit contain and is it worth bothering with or just change out the carb for a replacement one?
I've also seen the weber replacement for the Zenith is there any benefits or advantage with the Weber?

Thanks,

Gary

Dingocroft do a service kit for a Zenith, £33.60. They also have replacement Zenith's for £72.60.....:)

The Weber 34ICH is supposedly more economical but a bit gutless. The advantage is that parts and new carbs are still available Weber Carburettor Specialist, Weber Authorised Dealer, Fastroadcars, Weber Carbs, Fuel Accessories, Fastroadcars - Weber 34 ICH Land Rover Series 2A - 3 or Weber Carburettor Specialist, Weber Authorised Dealer, Fastroadcars, Weber Carbs, Fuel Accessories, Fastroadcars - WEBER 32/34 DMTL 6/101 LANDROVER 2250cc

I fitted a new DMTL32/34 (off a defender) I bought above and it's miles better but needed re-jetting for my engine and I had to make a cable-throttle...
