Hello

If I recall correctly, my D2 manual says that I can buy a zapper to use to lower the rear suspension for loading/unloading.

Is this right? Has anyone got or used one?

yES, i had ONE BUT SOLD IT TO ANOTHER MEMBER AS i DID NOT NEED IT BECAUSE i SOLD MY CARAVAN JUST SIX MONTHS AFTER BUYING THE CAR. i SAW IT OPERATE (AT the dealers) and it certainly did as it was supposed to do!

Is there no way to mount a push button in the back of the car, I can see the advantage of lowering the suspension, I mean the p38 was excellent at loading old folk in with the access mode, but if this mode is just for loading the boot/hooking a trailer on then surely a push button would be better?

I mean at what point will you be within radio distance and far enough away to require a remote control and also need to lower the rear of the car? I really cannot think of a single incident that may require this unique set of circumstances.

Does anyone know what frequency these plops work on, I have a remote control cloner on the 433mhz frequency which I have used to clone the FBH remote I have. I have tried to clone the key but it failed to work, I presume you need a little more security in a car's entry key.

Would these cloners work for the suspension plip. I have hawkeye, original plip but no bar codes but it does work on the car.

If it did work then it would be a cheap fix for those without the plip. I would assume you would need a genuine plip with code and then clone that and use the code to program it to the car?

As the plip does not open the doors etc, anyone with the plip bar code could donate their code to someone with a cloner. Or with nanocom it's even easier I believe???

I use one for hitching my boat onto the Discovery - good bit of kit
Someone recently posted that they had managed to come up with a switch to replicate the remote control

Yea but its not really a job for the remote is it? Surely you can wind the jockey wheel up and down?

Although when I had the p38 I used to lower to access mode, open the tail gate lid, reverse up to horse box set to noral or high mode and go out, adjust and the close lid. Car would rise and 'self' hitch used to make me chuckle but I could have wound the jockey wheel if I'd not got that!!!

I haven't towed with this one yet so maybe I will change my mind but I do struggle to line this one up as well as the p38, dunno what it is but I can't seem to get the tow hitches to line up as easy without having to get out and look.

I think a reverse camera is needed

i take it you haven't read the hand book?????

if you had to tow a lot you would see why! try an ifor with 3 tonne on it!!

I don't tow much really, just the horses at weekends really, in fact I don't tow them, the mrs does as I take corners too fast and the damn things fall over in the trailer.

I do like suspension moving to assist hooking a trailer up but I'm not convinced you need a remote, surely a button would suffice?

I do have issues lifting and after a recent fall from my horse my back is useless at anything other than separating my arse from my ears, so I do sympathise with your injuries.

The object of david Pye method is to eliminate the fob as they are expensive, also hard to find, so he set out to make a fitted version, and from what i have read from people that have bought one off him, they are really good, easy to fit and most of all at £29.99 exceptional value!

I think that's a very fair price, how does it work? Where is it wired to? Does the ecu chuck a fit?

I have tried to clone the fob but I'm either doing it wrong or its on a different frequency.
