Yoke / nylon selector cup

Hi guys just a quick question and probably a stupid one I’m fixing my gear selector as it was full of mud , I have looked online and I can’t find much information I’m trying to find out how tight the connection should be between the lower gear lever and the nylon selector cup currently it’s slides the entire way through

what do you mean 'slides through'? The nylon bit should be a cup that the ball just sits in. Grease it and let it sit in there

Yeah I know but is it supposed to be a tight fit in the top of the cup or does it just freely sit in with movement allowed

sots freely with movement allowed but it shouldn’t be ‘sloppy’

If in doubt just replace it, you can get the nylon cup seperate

looks like I’m replacing it then , can’t seem to figure out where the vauge gar changes are from
