at the risk of hi-jacking this thread....I have simply had a 'factory' recon head fitted with an uprated MLS gasket. In my experience of k series they are great once the HGF is dealt with. Really easy to tune, and very reliable. Parts are readily available and cheap too!!

I've fitted an MLS gasket and the uprated oil rail to mine now. Wouldn't say i'm less likely to get hgf again though as i've tuned it too. The more it's pushed with tuning it the more it's likely to go again. But if i hadn't have done any performance mods to it i'd say the oil rail and MLS gasket were good enough to not see hgf failure again.

Mind you, as MHM says, it can happen again no matter what you've done.

Still no further forward, replaced everythng i can think of.....no difference. only thing left that i could possibly be is the cat converter, lambda or worst case the map sensor. anyone had this changed? heard its in the ecu so will need a new ecu, remap and alarm set up. need a lottery win to pay the dealer for that!
