Sorry, sorry, sorry!!

Before you ask, yes i have searched, i have checked the springs and adjusted, and all several times!!

Pedal is still spongey, and i am still getting air from the system.

All new cly, shoes and master, no leaks and not losing fluid.

I can bleed it all up fine, go for a 1/2 mile spin come back, bleed again and get more air!

I have bled for the 11th time today! air from each wheel!

Im thinking the only place its getting in is the master cyl?
Surely if that much is getting in i would see a leak at a joint if it was that?

Thanks for your patience!
James

ok, just recieved and fitted replacement cyl, (only a bearmach), bled and have good solid pedal, which i never did with the britpart.
still have air tho!
i can bleed all, then go back to the first and there is air in it! so i go round again, and air where i started! been round 6 times this aft,
rear lhs, rear rhs, front lhs, front rhs,
open, pedal, close, off pedal, this twice, then pumpx4 and hold pedal down, open, close, release pedal.
getting air at each wheel each time but only on the first pedal.

What am I doing wrong? :frusty:

Try a wait and see bleed just open each cyl in turn with clear pipe to jar, wait until pipe is clear of air and move on,keep res toped up but no pumping.Takes a bit of time but works for me.

I had the same problem with my Astra and I eventually found a leaking joint in the pipework. Wasnt obvious and could easily be missed. Check all your connections are tight.

Bleed it all up again then clamp off the brakes at the flexy hoses with mole grips (not too hard or you will damage the hose but enough to stop fluid getting through). See if you have a good pedal, if you have and it stays that way it's not the master cylinder. Then get someone to press the pedal and keep it pressed, take one set of grips off (it dose'nt matter which but I'd start at drivers side front) whilst they're still pressing the pedal,if the pedal drops when you take drivers side front off that's the side with the air in it. Do this for each one till you find which one/ones have air in and then concentrate on bleeding that one

been thru it all, would have thought that with the pressure exerted by the brakes would show up any leak by pushing fluid out?

has any one had one of the cheap ebay brake flaring tools? do they suit old landys?

going mad here!
had all wheels off, re did connection to wheel cyl with ptfe tape, tightened all joints/unions, put grease on all nuts where the pipe goes in, clamped all flexi, good solid pedal. took off one at a time and bled that wheel, then removed all and bled again, still getting air!!!!
and i mean at each wheel each time.

please some one help!!!!!

dont lose heart
so when you clamped all 3 flexis , you got hard pedal?, you removed one front flexi and it went spongey?, so by bleeding that wheel cylinder you got a good pedal or bad pedal?

are the wheel cylinders new? have you checked the seals in them.

have you seen air come out of the bleed pipe or just the pedal feels spongey

have you backed off the adjusters , to allow the pistons to retract and make them easier to bleed

all cyl are new britpart, am actually getting air at each wheel each time.
by the time i have bled 2 wheels i will have air in the first!
to bleed am opening nipple, press pedal, close nipple, release pedal, then pump pedal, hold down, open nipple, close nipple, release pedal so im pretty sure no air is getting past nipple.

got to be a simple answer!

When I bleed the brakes I open nipple, press down, close nipple, release pedal, open nipple, press down, close nipple, release pedal. Slightly different to your method. Worth a try as I think your method is pushing air back into the system when you push the pedal with nipple closed. Hope this helps.:)

"When I bleed the brakes I open nipple, press down, close nipple, release pedal, open nipple, press down, close nipple, release pedal."

i usually do this 2 times on each wheel before pumping then opening.

noticed that my wheel cyl may be different, some have 1 stamped on them, some have 3/4.
