As today was hot an sunny thought about doin a bit of gardening. So of I go outside armed with one of the kids tooth brushes and 2 litres of solvent degreaser. 2 hrs later i have a clean rusty engine and shiney gearbox on the chassi for me 2a. No content with that (think the sun had affected me) I turned to the series 2 and red oxided the chasis and engine bay ready to paint tomorrow. I'm sure it took me longer to paint the ront half of the 2 then it did to paint 2 coats on the whole of the 2a chassis.

Any one know what colour a 2a engine should be cause mines looks like it was a cream sorta colour. Oh and where can you get the paint from?

Seany your wanted.....where can I get paint for me engine from and what colour is it supposed to be???

is it defiantly cream and not a faded blue ? - "duck egg blue" is what lots of ex mil 2.25s of that era were painted, along with most of the 3 bearing blocks - 5 bearing blocks are mostly that brick red/terracotta color

Dunsfold apparently have gallons of orginal paint, but any paint shop will mix you some UHT enamel to match

does it look like this ?
