Xfer box & water

Just an observation, but last Sunday I had a play on Salisbury Plain. Xfer box working a treat, nice and smooth when engaging lever. Now, 6 inches of snow yesterday and sub zero temps and suddenly it was a pig to engage. Could it be that water has got in when I was wading and mixed with the oil, frozen and is making it difficult? When it warms up I will change the oils but just curious.

I hate Salisbury plain. That **** gets everywhere.

The mechanism is exposed at the front of the box so it is possible for it to be ****ted up and that will restrict its movement. After the plain I would always recommend dropping the fluids.
