Thought I should add some pics of 'Tiny' she is a 1997 4.0 v8 auto

As you can expect there are a few small problems with her but nothing too big I hope. Ill make a list and can tick off once sorted.
LED headlights are pants - had to get standards in as couldn't see anything at night.
Hot start problem - turned out to be a snapped wire on the one of the temp sensors plugs, new plug fitted and problem sorted.
Viscous fan constantly running - replacement sourced just waiting on the tools to remove and swap over.
Couple of holes in the exhaust - patched with exhaust paste till a new one can be ordered up.
Heated seats not working have read repair guide so will give that a go.
Heater fans not working thinking motors.
No idea about AC.
LPG kit not getting any power so need to check the wiring then get it serviced.
Slight pull to the left thinking tracking.
Needs a full service.

Apart from a bit of rust bubbles on the tail gate I think that is it she seems to be ok touch wood with nothing too serious there I think.

My plans at the min are to fix up her problems and get her mechanically good and just cruise around at the weekends and let my golf do all the hard work during the week.

For some reason the heater fans have kicked back into life I aint complaining it saves me a job. I must have knocked something when I was chasing the lpg wiring in the engine bay but not a clue.

Exhaust back boxes have been painted in high temp paint I didnt like the look of the sliver boxes hanging behind the bumper.

Bent my viscous fan spanner out of shape so will be looking for a heavier one and have another go next week.

check your relays in the fuse box for burning pull them out n check for burnt pcb underneath them

Heater fans have gone again but just don't have the energy to go looking for whats wrong at the min.

Still trying to work out the viscous fan swapped out for a used one and both doing the same thing staying on full all the time.

I sprayed and fitted the wing mirrors not that long ago but caught the drivers side on the gate post put a lovely scratch back into it. So that is now sitting in the sun drying while the grill is off as well to get resprayed as it was chipped from the rough handed p/o removing the headlight grills. Plan to do the front bumper soon as it has been sprayed badly but will need more paint for that.

Still waiting on the postman delivering my rear drivers door chrome handle the other 3 our fitted and look good come on hurry up Pat.

Last chrome handle now fitted.

Grill painted and ready to fit once dry.

Painted the tow bar after a quick run down with a wire brush.

That's a couple more wee easy cheap jobs off the to do list. If the weather holds I plan to get her polished just by hand but hope it will improve the paint as its a bit dull looking. The golf needs new brakes all round and tax and insurance so tiny isn't going to get much love this month if it costs money.

Changed the oil and filter, changed air filter, new spark plugs and new pollen filters all fitted. Front bumper is off and sanded down and now in primer along with front wipers which had been touched up with hamerite I think and left with brush marks. Just waiting on paint to arrive now. Touched up the bonnet and a few other bits with some chip paint not perfect but better than before.

Still to do change fuel filter, change serpentine belt, paint rusty bits behind bumper and reassemble the front end.

Did some rust removal and painted up a few bits that will be hidden behind the bumper. I'm happy with the finish looks better than the rusty bits even tho it will never be seen but worth doing when the bumper is off as I would never do it other wise.

Bumper is in paint as well and I decided to colour code my wipers while I was at it. Just need to laquer them and refit over the weekend.

Looks like you've caught the rust in time whilst it was just on the surface and before it got serious. How's the rest of the chassis?

the chassis not much different prob not even this bad I think some waxoil should get another few more years out of it just a messy and boring job I don't fancy at the mo

Body coloured wipers back on subtle mod but I like it.
New fuel filter fitted.
Slight blow in the exhaust at the front of the centre silencer fixed the joint was leaking just took clamp off and refitted.

Now have central locking problem :(

Just gone through rave and hopefully diagnosed the fault with my cruise control it looks like the cruise control inverter was playing up so replacement ordered up on ebay just need to wait on delivery.

Only other problems at the min are heated seats suspect the base elements and the hevac book symbol fans do work intermittently so don't think its them, fuses and relays all look good so keeping my eye out for a reasonably priced used one on the bay. Then its on to the lpg system

Finally after a couple of months have her back on 4 wheels in this time I have done some major repair work I painted all 4 brake calupers red. Yes that's it work and weather have got in the way might get a pic before Easter at this rate lol.

I have also pulled plenium off to paint red but ran out of primer this morn :( so thats put a damper on todays work. The rocker covers are coming off to be painted red aswell but need a deep socket so another job to put off till I can get one. Got new gaskets and chrome bolts to rebuild it all.

She is due for her mot but as she is sorned due to caliper painting and will need min of new pads and discs. They all look tired but it can wait till after Xmas and the weather improving as the wife's car needs looked at first can't afford 2 cars off the road.

Thought I better add some pics to this thread first few are of part way through the strip and paint of the calipers and other bits not got any finished one yet Ill wait till its light outside then take a couple.

Plan for today is to finish painting it in red once dry I plan to pick out all the raised bits in black

Finished painting the box.

Pulled the rocker covers off think I will drain the coolant and disconnect pipes before fitting was a bit of pain getting drivers side off.

Some nitromors, a wire brush followed by a jet wash now left to dry. Phone battery died so no other pics. Anyone know how to get the oil filler pipe off would make painting easier.

This is the final red coat now just need to pick out the raised bits in black with a fine paint brush then a coat of lacquer and the fun of rebuild

As you can see just a bit better looking once dry its getting the same treatment as above. Might as well make it all look nice if I'm going to spend a huge amount of time under there lol.
