Hello,

I would like to acquire a 1964 LWB SIIa.

The vehicle HAS to be VERIFIABLY BUILT (not registered) in 1964
(serial)

I would prefer a softtop, but I'll consider a pick up or SW.
Diesel or petrol unimportant.

I'm not fussy about the state of it, but I WOULD like it to be
complete. Ideally I can drive it home to Belgium, however carefully. I
don't mind shot bulkheads and rusty outriggers or creaky gearboxes.

I do require the relevant paperwork (V5 and whatever else) so I can
register it over here when I've rebuilt it.

For those of you who want to send their car to a good home, I'll
guarantee you I'll give it all the attention it can handle. This thing
will most likely stay with me 'till I move to the big workshop in the
sky.

I've also dreamt of getting a 1964 SIIa although I'd have gone for the SWB.
Year I was born. My guess is it's the year he was born, however it will
probably turn out to be something far less romantic - some strange Belgium
vehicle licencing tax dodge or something...

....Peter, please put us out of our misery!

I have a CKD one here in australia you can buy of me if you like verry
little rust 109 sw 2.25 petrol

Since you're alle a bunch of all round good eggs, I'll come clean.

Yes, It is the year I was born.

And yes, Certificates of Conformity started in 1967, so the fact that
I can use slightly off-spec engines is an added bonus !

But do any of you fine chaps know of one for sale ?

Seriously, the cost of shipping it here would far outpace the purchase
price. Unless you know of a dirt cheap way of shipping it here ?

nah, mine's 1971. Not specifically for sale, but I might have to move it on
if/when I get into the transit/110 hybrid construction seriously.

Dunno. IIRC the RR/Mr Whippy was done by the Chaos Crew, some lads from
north of Watford. They could have sold it on after the series and it now
resides there blaring out a distorted "Greensleeves" or some other
plink-plonk sunday nap-ruining tune I suppose.

I'd doubt it was the Tenby one, weren't they fetaured in Landrovers across
Britain? Seemed to enthusiastic about the vehicle to scrap it. Also had a
101 but it's criminal to run it on a beach all day.. still if they own it
it's down to them what they do with it.

It's not that one then. The one I'm thinking about was done about 3 or 4
years ago.

bit more serious than that, but the same idea, yeah. 110 chassis and
running gear, transit 12-seat minibus body, minus 3 seats to make it a
9-seater.

I already have the transit part.
