Ayup,
I bought off ebay the other day a set of brakes shoes, springs and a cylinder for both front wheels. When i've got the drums off it seems i've got two cylinders on each wheel, top and bottom. The haynes manual doesn't have a picture of my setup. What is it???
I've got a 1980 swb diesel series 3..

Youve got a twin leading shoe setup on the front of your landy it sounds like youve bought a single leading shoe setup from ebay ,probably for the rear brakes .
your best bet is to take your original shoes to a decent spares shop and get them from there .Most if not all front drums are twin leading shoe(each shoe operates on its own cylinder givng you better braking)hope this helps:D

Ayup,
Thanks for that, Yes i have just had another look on ebay and realised mine is post june 1980 so ill need 2 cylinders, do you think i will be able to use the 10" shoes i bought?

Its likely you have 11" drums and will need 11" shoes to fit as they made them same as LWB

its best to check by taking drums off and comparing just in case you have non standard set up

also check the diameter of the wheel cylinders

that's good to know, might as well fit them to the rear then i'll be in the unique position of having all me brakes working.....

Cheers guys for the info :)
