Possibly. It's at a £4000 starting price but what's the reserve?

Described as a well looked after car owned by the seller and his father before him. But there's a few dings on it, no doubt the spotlights have been removed after being damaged and the aircon isn't working (which MAY only need re-gassing). Why wouldn't you re-gass if you want to sell it? I suspect it's been looked after on a tight budget.

The obvious things that anyone can see have been declared, but what isn't obvious here? Maybe nothing. I would take a good look at the vehicle with a knowledgable non interested third party.

Could well be a good 'un. But at what price?
 
Tenner says the air con has a leak on the pipe that passes between the L/H horn and headlight, where it rubs on the bodywork, hence the reason the aircon doesn't work. Not a major fix.

That's quite a dent in the rear for a motor that's been cherished.

Think you'll find that he's letting his heart rule his head re the price and can see it being unsold at the finish.

As with all Discoveries you need to get underneath it to see if its a good one or not.
 
Coming with a rear height control fob would suggest a fair bit of towing too.

Its in Perth, lots of ice and salt on the roads up there, so the rear chassis could be doubtful too

As someone else has said, a third party would be a help, as at 88k, there will be a few expensive fixes coming along soon

Its a case of what its worth to him, being more than what its worth to anyone else, and without sounding like a complete bastard, it was left to him, so he got it for nothing!
 
Wouldn't tell me what buy it now price was, asked what work had been done and he replied New front wipers and front bump stops 19/11/11, New rear ACE pipes and ACE short link bush 10/02/12, New full exhaust 20/04/12, New discs and pads front and rear 24/05/12, New R/N/S anti-roll-bar link 07/11/12, New F/N/S hub 20/11/12, New R/O/S hub and Watts linkage bush 08/02/13, New F/O/S hub and rear brake pipes 14/02/13.

I'm seriously after one of these discos "face lift" such a varied market, some fetching 5k+ some not getting any bids! Any advice on wat to look for on a 2003?! Pref a ES model
 
Looks to me like its had a lot of money spent on it. such as ACE pipes etc. Even small things like front bump stops which aint that important. So to me it seems a car well looked after. But you do need to check rear chassis

he probably ain't gonna tell you his reserve as for that reason maybe, doesn't think you are serious?, and you know what! i would think the same!
thing is! but if you are, it's a long way to go to be disapointed!! i think i would look a bit nearer, i got mine when i wasn't looking, off auto trader, private sale, guy was just selling as he wanted a smaller car due to his age, not perfect, but price reflected that £4500 12 months ticket for a 04 pursuit,
there is em out there! just right place right time,

oh!! get him to take some more pics, the underneath rear pass side chassis!!! etc

yeh ill get him to take some pics i think, anyone in scotland wana go take a look for me :p i dont mind a weekend in scotland if i dont buy it :p trains about £200 return for me and the other half. i cant find any near us and as we just took £4500 cash for her car on thursday the burden of one car is taking its toll allready as i start work at 5am 25 miles away! waking her up at 4 this morning to take me to work was fun :p
