I just purchased thr workshop manual from Famous Four and received it few days ago. The book is amazing and I have already went through all night. I finally understand how this TD5 engine is built and the role of all the electronics, sensors and ECU etc.
What I just want to say is to recommend everybody to purchase the workshop manual of the vehicle as it really helps to understand almost everything.

have a nice day

thank you for the message;

I do like technology and with the TD5 I have something to deal with. It is interesting to see the combination of german technology and Land Rover traditional savoir-faire in the Defender TD5.
I do not understand why they limited this to the engine and why they have not put the same approach in the gear box, transfer box and couple of other parts.
I think that the Defender TD5 is a good car but complex to take care of.
Complex means also expensive.
I drive this car in the bush all the time and I do not have too many big issues but it costs me some decent money to keep her in standard shape.
I have a good friend of mine who has a 300 and I think that once the TD5 is in good shape she is better ride than the 300.

I need now the Owner manual and the spare parts manual and I am good to go

driving back to the jungle today... wish me luck

all the best

if more people read the drivers manual and the workshop manual wed have far less peeps on here asking why one wheels spinning when theyve got their diffs locked on their disco , why they cant undo their viscous fan etc,

most cars you dont need to read anything to drive them to the garage with yer credit card ready.... but for most people if you want to get the best out of them and fix things yerself a manual can save hours of head scratching and swearing.
