workshop manual or similar for P38

hello

Some advice please - Ive recently moved up the food chan from having a Discovery in my toy box to having a P38. I'm not much of a mechanic but there are a couplr of jobs to be done on the car. One is to fix whatever makes the front suspension push itself up when I stop at traffic lights and to change the rear screen wiper (which looks as though the only way is to buy a new tailgate !!)

Question is what would you recommend as a reference booh for this vehicle - comprehensive but ok for a beginner >>

The trick with the rear screen wiper is to set it going, then turn off the ignition whilst it is at 6 o'clock, it will then allow you to change the blade.

Getting the arm itself off is doable too, slide off the plastic cap at the base of the arm underneath the spoiler, its tricky but possible, then hopefully the nut should come loose with a 13mm spanner. I recommend this because the arm can get stiff with lack of use then it ends up not getting good contact with the screen or vibrating against it. When off give it a bit of lubrication and a good workout.

Pushing itself up at traffic lights? How do you mean? The air suspension will rise from motorway height to normal height when you pull away.

Opening the tailgate while the blade is vertical is the official method of stopping it while you change the blade.

Maybe the rising up at traffic lights is just the EAS compensating for a leak. You probably won't notice it dropping as it's slower. Does it do this repeatedly?

Thanks to you all, some good advice here on all 3 points.Looking at other posts on this site I seem to have leaky front suspension but same on both near and offside.
