Well i've just come of the phone from Adrian Flux, they won't be getting my business this year again!!

Last year I paid £197.00 Best quote so far from LV is £398.76!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Flux came back at over £800! The operator didn't actually give me the full price because she knew about the LV quote!

I'm a 44 year old with a clean licence, living in a rural area of wales with virtually no vehicle crime (according to the insurance postcode thing i'm in one of the best areas in the UK!) max 10K a year! Go figure!

At this rate i'll be parking my car up untill insurance prices come down which means I won't be able to get to work (the service bus comes into the village at 10am on Thursday morning and returns at 4pm thursday afternoon, thats it!!) 5 miles to the nearest town, driving is a necessity not a want!!

I'm 64, clean licence, medium risk area and the insurance on my 1990 Defender 90td is just shy of 200 quid. thats with limited mileage of 8000. Best I could get and it was with Sureterm Direct:)

hey all i was going to bye a disco last week for £3000 with loads of mods it had everything done so i rang flux for a quote and told them everything it had on it and they quoted me £2500. ive got my test booked for the 6th of next month so they said they would ring back then to see if i wanted the insurance but they rang today so i told them i didnt bye that motor but i have now got i different disco so i got a quote on that its worth £1400 and only got tyers and bumpers on it so why got back to me with a quote of £2600

how do they work out the same car with less mods and worth more than half the price is £100 more to insure.
looks like ill be getting on the phone and trying to get some cheaper quotes

You probably find it makes sense - those with modded land rovers are probably more likely to look after them, spend the money maintaning them and keep them secured at home, therefore there is a reduced risk in insuring them, even though a payout may be more if it is stolen. Modded vehicles tend to also do less miles so again less risk.
