Won't Start

I have a T reg Freelander 2.0 Diesel. Recently I have had trouble starting it. I switch on until the glowplug light goes out and then try and turn it over, but nothing happens. After removing the key several times, and locking and unlocking using the fob it will end up starting.

Any ideas?

Sounds like it could be an imobiliser problem to me. Does it not turn over at all, struggle to turn over or turn over and just not start?

It won't turnover at all, and then eventually after playing for a while with the ignition and the key fob it will kick over and start. Sometimes I will just hold the key over to start, and after 5 - 10 seconds it will turnover.

Could be the starter motor. Unlock and keep trying with the key without using the fob. My starter motor went like that but got worse and worse ver quickly. Guy came out and gave it a sharp tap with a large hammer and metal bar on a couple of points and it worked fine. Must have shifted some dirt or something.
