Today tried another E.C.U. engine fired but would not run. Then it was a a day of swopping plugs, leads, dizzy caps, all resulting in different outcomes, sometimes it fired, then it didnt, sometimes a spark, then there wasnt. In the end it came to the inevitable, THROW SOME MONEY AT IT! So fifty pounds lighter, I fitted new plugs, dizzy cap, rotor, leads, and guess what? it still didnt go.Then my mate had a brain wave, we moved the leads around one place on the dizzy,HURRAY!, it ran beautiful. How it ran before beats me, what caused it to stop running, I still dont know. But now I know, you can fit a serpentine engine in a classic(even if it was once on a auto box), the original E.C.U. will run it ok, there is a fuel cut off switch under the passenger seat, you havnt to forget to fit the spigot bush in the flywheel, and most important of all, NOTHING SOUNDS SWEETER THAN V8. Thanks to all that have read and replied to my posts these past few days.
