Changed the fuel filter on the car and checked fuel lines to and back to the tank. Now the car wants to start but there's no diesel reaching the engine,it runs through the new filter but not in a steady stream. Not sure if it should be stronger of it is just pumped on demand. Had a look at a friends car and he shower me how it is primed (not a Landy). She wants to start but there is something small holding it back. What ?

If it's the torpedo filter in the rear O/S wheel arch, it has a direction of flow. You might of put it in the wrong way. The housing has an arrow on it, same as the filter. Nightmare to get put though.

OK,a Brit more info.

The fuel filter is at the front below the electrics,it screws onto a housing and the pipes flow from it. So it can't be put on the wrong way round. The fuel pump in the tank is new and IMO working properly and the diesel is pumping through but docent seam to make it to the engine so I am assuming there is a air lock.

Mines the later 03 plate with the rear arch filter/pump cradle but it's all self priming. Maybe your underbonnet lift pump is unhappy or something isn't sealing properly & letting air in.

The diesel is getting to the engine, took the fuel line off at the injectors. For some reason she is taking ages to prime. Not sure what the prob is.
