Hi everyone, I have a defender 4.2 efi with a bad smoking habit.
Symptoms: poor cold start, will only start with throttle down, idles a bit rough, warms up ok now here's the interesting thing, she will be idling for afew minutes then a sudden almost stall, almost cuts out then engine recovers but becomes really rough creating choking acrid fumes, black smoke when revved. I'm thinking a coolant sensor or fuel pressure regulator? Anyone had anything similar??? Thanks
