Bearings been re-done, and had a check over by a local landy-man, but if I hit a rut at anything over 50, I get a sometimes quite violent wobble!! Any ideas?

Is it the death wobble (shaking violently when you hit a pothole/bump in the road, almost out of control)? Does it occur when accelerating, braking, coasting, overrun? If you increase the speed does it go away?

replaced the shocks
Replaced worn ball joints

may be worth checking your u-joints, steering stabilizer, it is the shock that runs side to side near the front lower of the engine, if this is bad it will cause some violent shaking

my 200 dose same thing not all time tho i put new stearing damper on as old one fell peices witch started it all off all looks fine underneath any one have any ideas

Check steering column U/J's. Upper one on mine is shagged and I'm getting the same symptoms. (Waiting for pay day to replace lower steering shaft)

was the swivel pins on my 200 series v8, braking gently then accelarating would stop it or keeping below 55mph.
worth checking the pre load on the swivels before replacing anything else needlessly.
