Just brought my first military 110 from withams at the landrover show Peterborough.
I could not believe how good the chassis body & internals are, no repairs spotlessly clean drab green with a quality complete tight rag top cant believe it is 18 years old,r380 gearbox discs & coils all round stops on a sixpence & straight.
pity the summers going I would love to roll the soft-top up ah well there's always next year.
apparently this is part of a batch 2.5 n/a of war reserve stock stored in a climate controlled hangar in alvechurch most of its life hence its only done 29.000 miles.
I know its going to be A lot less powerful than my td5 90,Its going to be a couple of weeks before I can pick it up because of paperwork and number plates & then I will post some photos.

cheers lucifus do you recognise the logo on the screen, not something I ever saw whilst I was in the army

Can help on the logo. I never came across it while serving either. You can get a copy of the merlin in report for free which tells you the units it served with. My one spent most of its life with RMP units before finishing at 3 Div with some infantry regiment which I forget the name of

That looks like a great military 110, well done you.

You may be able to help me. I too was at the Peterborough show, but constructing my shopping list of changes to my 110 I want to get done. Top of the list is a set of military spec wheels and tyres, specifically I want to get hold of :

S11 Forward Control Rims & 9.00 X 16 bar grip tyres (these are the ones used on Pinkies & other SF assault 110s) See attached photos
An alternative Civvy tyre I beleive is a 9.00 16 Michelin XZL or a Petlas N3.

Any ideas at all of how/where I can source the military wheels/tyres or indeed what kind of similar steel rim would also carry the 9.00X 16 tyres ?

Sorry I can't comment on those tyres. I guess they are for show though as those bar tyres would be shocking to drive on. (Yes I've driven army vehicles years back that had them). You're probably best posting the question on one of the ex military vehicle forums.

I was looking at the 300tdi 110 they had, I very nearly went for it, but it was 6.5k plus VAT. More than I could convince myself, or the missus to spend.

The ones they had on show were mint though, super condition and the engines all sounded sweet.
