I agrees wiff robin.

Its been covered alot of times. Search and you will find :D

But if you can wait for this months Land rover international magazine there is an article in the tech section on how to fit um.

disconnect the battery, use 40amp wire to go from your +ve battery terminal to a fuse holder, put a 30amp fuse in the holder, then from the other side of the fuse to one side of the secondary of a standard 40amp car relay, take a second wire off the same pin on the relay go to a switch, then from the switch to one side of the primery of the relay, other primary of relay is connected to earth, the other side of the secondary of the relay goes to the +ve side of your lights which should be connected in parallel, -ve side of lights go to earth, reconnect battery.
if you need a wiring diagram or anything clarified let me know.

Wrong!! 6 lights should never be wired as 1 full set. Always wire them as pairs. and a 30Amp fuse would prob blow all the time running 330Watts =27.5Amps.

And that doesn't allow for him deciding to fit 80 or 100W bulbs at some point in the future.

Was going to buy some spot lights but after reading that dont think i will bother:eek:

.

if you say so.

330watts @ 12v is 27.5amps but measure your battery voltage, if its 12v its ****ed.

most vehicle lamps, relays ect even cable is rated at 14v and @ 14v, 330watts is 23.5 amps which wont blow a 30 amp fuse.

why would you wire it twice if one 40 amp circuit will handle it?

i do agree if you wanted to upgrade it in the future two circuits would be better but thats not what the op asked.

so shove it up your arse.:)

I don't think 6 spotlamps would fit. 2 or 3 maybe but not all 6. & Why would you want all 6 lamps tp come on at once. Also as they really need to be wired so they only come on if the highbeam is on. Wouldn't it make more sense to take the Switced live from the Highbeam feed wire??

You also failed to state whether he needed to wire them in series or Parallel??

beats me why he wants any, let alone 6, i cope with the headlights and the led on the bottom of me lighter.
two circuits would give more flexability i agree but thats not what he asked.

you could take the +ve from the high beam and thats a good idea, i was trying to simplify it for the op sake.

last word 4th line of my origional reply.

anyway bored with splitting hairs now so i will leave you to have the last word and perhaps to give him better instructions.

tis easy when you rtfm just wired up 8 roof mounted spots via 4 relays each relay is fed via 20amp cable and fused at 15amps. though I am looking for some large UV spot lamps for when I go out zombie hunting
