Disco 1 Wiring Loom redundant and not used wiring

Hi everyone,
Ive tried using the search but it comes up as nothing on every search so I may be doing something wrong there. What I am trying to find is a list or diagram that shows all the relays and extra bits that I can remove from my 300 tdi wiring loom. If it's not attached to anything and its not plugged in I assume its just the extras in the loom for those that had the extra spec vehicle. Such as heated seats and the like. Is this correct or am I way off course?

Your assumption is about right.
The LRs workshop manual will no doubt have the list of relays and their function, I know the Haynes manual does for air con which was an option for some models, although not for the electric seats or sunroofs or front fog lamp options.

There’s nothing to show what Items you can remove from the vehicle, that’s your decision

I know ive not got electric seats for example so tgat shoukd be easy enough to rip out the cables etc.

If some cables and wiring are found to be redundant, why not keep them? there may be a time in the future that they would be handy for something else.
You could end up with a mess of wires as removing wires that are redundant, but are part of an existing loom with other circuits, when, you break open a loom to remove what you don’t want, then remake the loom to retain what’s left in a neat and safe form, its all extra work.
