So after searching for hours I can’t find a decent diagram for a 200tdi....

Best I found was;
http://www.legionlandrover.com/manuales/electrical schemes - defender 300 tdi.pdf

But that’s for a 97 so not for a 200tdi..... I don’t mind buying a decent manual if there is one, I just can’t find one... I do have a Haynes, but it’s not great to be fair.

Your help, as always would be much appreciated
That’s quite a comprehensive guide you found there, shame it’s for a 300tdi. I quite like the simplicity of the Haynes diagram, the only other one I’ve seen is the workshop manual diagram (which is listed on the site you linked to), but it’s not a patch on that 300tdi one.

Personally, I would wire it up to the 300 ROW or TD5 Wiring diagrams, but leave out anything that isn’t needed on the 200tdi. It makes the wiring colours more “modern” so more people should have a better chance of faultfinding, and it’s easier to find coloured diagrams for them models.

I’ve been thinking along the same lines, purely because I think it may be easier to work from lol

I just bought a TD5 set up from the bay, hopefully that will make it a bit easier with the wiring?

Ahh yes thank you, I have seen this and what a fullly in depth guide it is, I will be following this but at the moment I have no wires at all:( Auto sparks seem reluctant to help as I want a more hybrid loom than they supply (even though they apparently do custom jobso_O)
So I have bought a load of wire and decided to make my own...... already thinking this is a bad choice :D but I will try and and learn something new before I give in.

Good luck.
Time and patience, will get you there. The only advice I could give is small bits at a time and plenty of labels:)
Plenty of help on here when you get stuck, but certainly doable.

In that case the 300 ROW will be the nearest to a “standard” wiring setup you can get!

Edit: I would design your wiring loom to incorporate things like relay switched headlights from the start (instead of it being an afterthought).

Ok that will be my research for this afternoon...

As always, many thanks

Remember that there is no such thing as a 'big job', just a lot of little ones to be done in order.

Only if I knew the correct order lol, I’m giving myself 6 months max and if I don’t achieve it by then I will draft in a specialist

I bought a genuine work shop manual for mine, they come up on eBay from time to time but are only about 40 quid new, the genuine parts catalogue is something I also couldn't do without, if you are going to do work on your own vehicle I highly recommend buying the proper manuals.

Don’t pay for it (well not that much) I got my 96 on for free on the net, and a good 1 for the L322 for a donation.
On and it was worth it at the time:)

But generally look around they are there for free sometimes take some finding though.

Mine came in a clip folder, like this one, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rov...m=223432076247&_trksid=p2047675.c100009.m1982

Parts catalogue is the same kind of thing. I find them much better than the downloadable ones, these are quite specific to your vin so make sure you get the correct one. You can take these out to the job rather than try to see it on your phone.
