Hi,

Would like some opinions on wiring a 6 way aux fuse box

I was hoping to make them all ignition only?
Not sure if I can use one relay for them all.

For now I only have 2 cigerette lighters to wire in to it.

So would like to know,

Can I use 1 relay and make the whole fuse box ignition,
What size fuse would you use for cigerette lighter?
And what size cable

Kind regards

hi mate

can't answer all ur questions but

know u can get fuse boxes , that u can wire half permanent live and the other half switched live

so if u had a 6 x way fuse box, could have 3 x perm live and the other 3 x swl

I think the cig lighter is 15 amp, if u have a quick look at ur drivers side fuse box should tell u, sorry can't remember off the top of my head

wire sizing depends in what u intend to run off the fuse box

there's some good articles on here via the search button with regards to the formula used in order to work out the amperage of the item and then what size wire and amps

if u can't find it , let me know and will find it for u

do u know what u are likely to use the aux fuse box for plse

sorry can't be more help to u mate

Easiest way to wire the fuse box is to "daisychain one side of the fuse box connections. so wire soldered to 1st pin then onto 2 nd then 3rd and so on. Use 60amp cable, that should cover the loading. 100AMP relay and 50AMP fuse

If you want a split load 2 feed wires 3 pins soldered to each wire.

see some of the fuse boxes where u can buy a small metal connector that fits onto one side to do the same job as u say of daisy chaining

Hi guys thanks, so if I have .... 60 amp cable from battery to 50 amp fuse to 100 amp relay, then daisy chained fuse holders...

Then for the 12v socket in boot was gonna be used for cool box (3.5a)
And
On dash was gonna fit one of those usb sockets 2.1a max....

For those 2 would 10amp cable be ok? With 5 amp fuses?

when ever I do electrics on a car I always be over careful I would use say 15 or even 20 amp wire because one day you might be tempted to use something else as well.

For the fag lighter Always use 15A wire. Get the thinwall gear. for the USB charger 5amp wire will be fine..

thanks for your replys... thinking i should have checked this all before ordering things...
the fuse box i have is this. UNIVERSAL CAR 6 WAY CIRCUIT ATO STANDARD BLADE FUSE BUILD IN BOX HOLDER 12V-24V | eBay

whats the easiest way to daisy chain this with a 60amp cable?? seems bit thick for spade connectors.

if not I'm thinking to have the fuse box permanent live with individual relays for different accessories but that just seems messy
