My nearside front and rear bumper indicators have a break in the wiring on my Discovery 1. Would splicing wire in fix this issue or is there an loom part that can be bought?

Also the part that has the 3 very narrow vacuum pipes in them, one goes to thr air box, the other would of been to the egr but that's blanked, the one goes to the other side of the engine and I think is to do with the brake vacuum, does anyone have a part number for this pipe please as can't find it anywhere as mine has stretched and severed, not sure if it has made much difference though.

Out of the 3 on the near side, how many of these indicators work? (front next to head lamp, front wing near door shut & rear bumper)

Do they work at all even with the hazard switch on?

These looms are handed and you can indeed buy a complete loom for either side, I doubt there would be multiple fractures along a single length so best to find a problem spot and chop it out if necessary.

Do you have cruise control?
 
All 4 indicators work on the near side with a play from the wiring. The ones that have the issue are the front nearside and the rear nearside bumper indicator. The side and upper rear are fine.

It does have cruise control but it's never worked well probably due to the wider vacuum hoses seen better days.
 
Very odd as I am almost certain that the bumper lights are a multi plug spliced into the rear lamp cluster harness, is it possible for you to trace the wires up from the boot floor grommet to the harness pls to confirm, it has been a while and 97 was an odd year as it was cross over year from 4X rear indicator lamps to the later bumper only indicator lamps in that same year and the 98/99 final production run of the 300Tdi D1s. It could be that you have one with peculiar wiring connecting the front indicator to the bumper lamps whilst leaving the side and upper rear as per normal, it's a Land Rover sadly, all too often there were never any set VIN dates for fitment and the parts bins dictated what spec they got too LOL
 
XBP100180 is the bulb holder, I had one rot out and the positive contact disintegrated, if the bulb holder is in good enough nick then it will be the super seal connector that has rotted out, very common as it gets a ton of spray and if the inner wing mud shields are missing they get mud and stones thrown all over them too.
 
Bulb holders seem ok this time round, the front one isn’t that old.

That part number STC1188 looks like the problem, I’m going order two of those and splie them in, if it works then I will solder them inproperly many thanks :)
