Today I decided that I had put up with the "wipers not parking properly" problem for long enough and changed the wiper motor.

Was a lot easier than I thought and regret not doing it sooner, as it looks as though not only were the electrics tired but also the wiper arm fitting, which fell apart as it was removed. The ball was floating around in the cup and was very badly worn although there was no evidence of wear when using them.

Feel very lucky it never fell out under normal use.
Moral....Don't delay simple maintenance just because you can't be arsed:doh:

How does one get at said wiper motor? I've got an issue with my wiper arms just settling properly after turn blades off. When I looked all I could see were some big plastic rivets?!

Lifted from Chromiumuk's post back in March 2011........As he says, about an hour.

First remove the wiper arms, think it's a 13mm nut that holds them on - you'll need to wiggle them a little once you've loosened off the nuts to "break" the taper lock.
Next, open the bonnet & pull off the rubber seal that runs along the bulkhead noting which way it comes off cause you'll need to push it back on the same way.
Now you need to lower the bonnet & release the middle parts of the large plastic bungs which hold the scuttle panels in place (some may break but you can use self tapper screws to refix the bungs later as long as you don't damage the bungs themselves.
Lift off the scuttle panels carefully as they are a little tricky to manoevre past the wings.
Finally If I can remember it's 3 or 4 10mm bolts which hold the motor & mechanism in place & don't forget to disconnect the electrical connector.
Reverse procedure for refitting.
All in all less than an hours work.

the best way to deal with the scrivit pins on the scuttle panel is to get a vey small screw driver and just tap down through the middle of them the screw bit will drop down which you can retrieve later and reuse hope this helps
