Hi all

Got a set of wipac leds for my 300tdi this week, just fitted them and only the stop/tail ones work.
The side lights don't work , I`ve left lights on and swapped back to original lucas ones and there on straight away,
The indicators wont flash, but the side repeaters do, swapped back to orignals and they work fine,
I changed the relay as per the instuctions but I can not get the side lights or indicators to go.
These lights are plug and play, no cables to join, sprayed leccy cleaner in the plugs as well, I have no idea what is wrong with them, other than a duff set, even then for none to work would be strange.

any one have any clues ?
cheers all

LEDs only work if the current is running the right way. If you can somehow reverse the wiring you might find that they work.
If all else fails cut the cables, swap them over and rejoin them.
Try one and see what happens.
I had to do all four for another member on here. A bit of soldering and heatshrinking and all was well.

Have you tried just putting 12v from a battery directly onto one to see if it lights up.

LED lights have a polarity so connected up wrong they wouldn't light up as they work like a diode i.e only work one way, act as a block in the other.

Not sure what the plugs look like on a 300tdi.

Thanks for your help people, I have managed to get the plugs off the end of the lights and reversed them all, will fit them again in the morning.
I have hooked them up to a battery and the do work, so worth trying.

I will update you all later.

regards

Hi all
Well done all of you who replied, you were all spot on.
The wipac leads once reversed worked fine, its just a shame that they don't leave the plugs off for the customer to fit, with a note about what to do in the box. They must have this problem all the time.
Oh well all sorted, happy with the result.
cheers all
