My bloody mirrors keep getting forced outa position by wind when driving at speed (well you know what i mean!) its becoming rather hazardous when overtaking etc. Before i go ahead and buy some new ones at a cool £10 each is this a common problem or is it just that the ball-socket joint is knackered on my set.

Also on a different note what is the pipe that connects to tiny tap(looks a bit like a greese nipple) on the rear axel (to the left of the diff if looking from behind) it doesnt seem to connect to anything, is it a breather pipe or something along those lines?

Cheers!

ah right, i hadnt bothered to take them apart until i had enquired on here, will have a bash tomorrow, also gonna dismantle the dashboard tomorrow as the speedo has stopped working, gotta go to france and have a mot soon so think i best sort it out, any ideas? And its stuck on 100k miles which i read is a common problem.....

The allen key bolt to tighten the clamp in the wing mirrors is underneath the mirror where the mounting is..... was this explanation really neccessary or even understandable??? Time for a brew I think. :D

thanks guys sorted the mirrors out, dealing with the speedo now, i have another niggle which annoys me and that is how sensitive the steering is at high speed, ive done a search but i dont think what ive found is relevant to my problem.

There are no noises or clunks and its fine at low speed, however when motorway driving occasionally a slight knock of the wheel can send the car into an almost uncontrollable wobble/swerve requiring me to slow down to regain control. It all most seems like the steering is over-sensitive, is this a damper problem or should i be looking elsewhere?

no there isnt any resistance but when i straighten the wheel the wobble doesnt stop until ive slowed down a little. Its hard to explain... it almost feels like its on very high springs (which i dont think it is) and is a bit top heavy!
