I took my windscreen out and put it somewhere “safe”. My son had pals round last night and it turns out my safe place wasn’t safe 😏
So is a replacement from John Craddock at about £45 (Britpart) ok ? What after all can go wrong with a bit of glass 🤔

I thought it was too good to be true !! £60 surcharges bring the total up to £125 😏
I think I might just go down the insurance route and go for the “heated” one that was broken.

poke two wires down at each end of dashboard with a crimp fitting, explain the timer / relay is duff so you re-wiring it.
this stops them testing it, then wire up at your leisure, mobile centre do a nice kit, its a doddle to fit...........
I ( imean my mate lol) went for a green tinted one at the same time.
I think they come clear, green or blue i seem to recall.

A replacement from John Craddock for £45 (Britpart) should be fine for the cost, but keep in mind that aftermarket glass can sometimes vary in quality compared to OEM options. Britpart is generally a reputable brand, but some users have reported issues with fitment or clarity with cheaper replacements. The main thing that can go wrong is ensuring the glass fits properly and seals well, especially around the edges, as improper installation can lead to leaks or wind noise. Just make sure to double-check the fit and the quality of the seal before installing it.

<snip> ... Britpart is generally a reputable brand ...

There may be a local supplier where you can go and pick one up. When I last needed a windscreen my local independent land rover specialist could supply me one for £60 which made it much cheaper than online by the time you added in postage. It was also cheaper to get the tinted one at the time so that is what I have. It is only a very mild tint and is more antiglare than tint, just if you come across the same thing!
