Got a new heated windscreen yesterday. Windscree company who i've used before & found very good said the windscreen trim had been removed before & someone had broken the clips at the top ?? so when they went to fit the trim after fitting the new screen, they had to glue it back on. They said if it still leaked they'd fix it.

Today I went to Cork (approx 63 miles one way). Above 50mph there was terrible wind noise coming from the windscreen. I never had this before.

I'll presume that the windscreen trim wasn't put back properly. Can the windscreen company order a new trim ??. Any advice much appreciated.

Part of the windsceen replacement deal if you go through your insurance is that any trim is included in the job.
The clips are pennies, but noise from the upper trim is common and an easy fix.
Basically, the wind gets under it and it vibrates. Land Rover put a bulletin out some years ago for the fix, which is to run a bead of windscreen sealer under the trim which holds it secure. The people who did the screen should first get the correct number of clips, and if necessary a new trim and when they refit it a bead of sealant should be applied also.

Thanks for the replies. Bigger problems now :( Windscreen was originally replaced because of two cracks & was leaking slightly. Hand washed the RR yesterday (4 days after getting new screen) & when I was using the garden hose to rinse off the vehicle, the headlining in the same spot (drivers side) got soaked, so much so that it was dripping down onto my phone. Going to go back into the windscreen company today & tell them to order the new trim pieces !!!:mad::mad:

Screen should not be leaking even with trim pieces missing, they do not seal the screen. It will need to be sealed properly, obviously there is a void in the sealant somewhere.

Go kick ass Irish...the screen should be 100% sealed as previous post, the trim is cosmetic.
Whilst you are at it, tell them to get the upper finisher replaced/refitted CORRECTLY, after all they are out to get a good lump from the insurance company!!

Finally got to the bottom of the leak !!!. Took off the black plastic beading running the length of the roof on the driver's side. Just past the sunroof near the top corner of the windscreen where the body is joined together by a welding seam there was a hole. The hole appeared tiny to me but according to the windscreen company it was big so they filled it with sealer & placed the trim back down. Hey presto no more leak. At this stage everything is going well & am having fun driving it. Also got the new headlights etc fitted so at least everything is updated.
